The Rhine River in western Europe connects many industrial cities to the port of Rotterdam on the North Sea. It provides links from inland area and to sea. It might become hard to control immigration between surronding countries.
Chapter 11, Section 2
1. The major influences on climate in Europe are it's northern latitudeand proximity to the sea, also Westerly winds and the presence of large mountain ranges like the Alps affect climate.
2. Winds affect Europes climate regions. For example prevailing werserly winds bring warm, moist air to western Europe. The winds can also bring cold temperatures to the area. Local winds in the area sometimes cause changes in the areas normal weather pattern.
Creative Writing:
Dublin and Duluth have different average temperatures for many reasons. Although they are so close theyre wind patterns may be different bringing different temperatures to the area. Also their altitudes may be different depending on the area which will cause a difference in temperature. Another reason is that one area could possibly be closer to a nearby body of water which would make the temperature cooler.
