People use the rivers in Latin America in many important ways. First of all they use rivers to transport people and goods to different regions. Theyre rivers help to create hydroelectric power to power cities nearby. The Panama canal is a signifigant waterways that is used to allow ships to travel between the Atlantic and Pacific Ocean without having to travel around the southern tip of South America.

Chapter 7, Section 1

1. Most of Latin America has a tropical climate, but more specifically a tropical wet, tropical dry, humid subtropical and dry climate.

2. Latin Americas climate is largely affected by elevation rather than distance from the equator. The higher an area is elevated the less and less vegetation there is. As you go up a mountain in Latin America the number of trees decrease as you escalate and at the top it becomes just snow and ice.

Creative Writing:

I am hicking in the Amazon Basin. It is a tropical wet climate and i am surronded by lush, green, vegetation everywhere i look. The weather is pretty warm, although it continues to rain very often. There is a slight breeze which is quite warm and humid. As i look up all i see are thick leaves creating a canopy blocking the sun from beneath the trees. I continue to explore finding more and more distinctly different species of animals constantly. All around me are bright colors of flowers plants and animals of many sorts.
